We are thrilled to share a new chapter in our work—our recent collaboration with the Center of Southwest Studies (CSWS) at Fort Lewis College! Over the past few months, we have been working closely with CSWS following the donation of two wireless virtual reality headsets, generously gifted by the Denetso Family.

The headsets now live at CSWS, where they will give visitors and student groups the chance to explore a piece of The ONWARD Project’s Immersive VR Experience.  We are especially excited to have this digital storytelling tool join CSWS’s extensive holdings of RBMVExpedition archival materials and films.

The headsets made their debut during a recent visit of a tour group with Treasure Box Tours prior to traveling through the Four Corners region of the Southwest, and—as noted in the snippet from the CSWS newsletter above—this groundbreaking use of virtual reality was warmly received and greatly enhanced the touring experience.  We’re honored to partner both with CSWS and the Treasure Box Tours to virtually bring new audiences to the ancient Southwest sites and the layers of stories they and the land around them hold.

Stay tuned for news of additional headset installations currently taking place at other institutions, again made possible by the generosity of the Denetso Family
